Breast Reduction

For many women, having large breasts can be a real headache—not only because of physical issues like back, neck, and shoulder pain but also because of self-esteem problems, difficulties finding clothing that fits well, and limitations in daily activities such as exercising.

Breast reduction surgery, or reduction mammaplasty, allows us to reduce the size of the breasts while also improving their shape and position. Large and heavy breasts tend to sag more than smaller ones, causing the areola to drop below the ideal height and losing the desired round shape.

Firmer, smaller breasts without excess skin, and with a better-sized areola—all of this without the need for implants.

With your own breast tissue, it's possible to achieve a naturally shaped breast with a very beautiful and pleasing appearance

There are several techniques depending on the breast size, how much sagging is present, the amount of excess skin, and the degree of reduction desired. The larger the reduction, the bigger the scars. The most commonly used techniques are Periareolar, Vertical, and Inverted T or Anchor.

This depends entirely on the patient’s preference.

During the surgery, the nipple and areola remain connected to their blood vessels and the nerves that provide sensitivity. While partial and temporary loss of sensitivity is possible, it should return almost entirely within two years. Occasionally, some patients may not fully regain sensitivity.

Either of these changes can affect the size and appearance of your breasts. Therefore, it is recommended to maintain a stable and healthy weight after surgery, as significant weight gain or loss could cause your breasts to grow again or sag following massive weight loss.

In our experience, most patients experience almost complete relief from back pain the day after surgery. The improvement in their quality of life is nearly immediate.

In theory, implants could be placed during a breast reduction, but my personal recommendation is not to do so. With proper surgical technique, it’s possible to achieve well-shaped breasts with highly satisfactory results. Remember, the heavier the breasts, the quicker they tend to sag, so an implant would add more weight to your breasts and your back.

Breast reduction surgery could affect your ability to breastfeed. Although the nipple never loses connection with the breast tissue, the healing process could alter lactation. This is something that happens occasionally, but it’s important to keep in mind before undergoing surgery.

It's time to find the beauty in every corner of your being.
